Democratizing Democracy

Here's a new one: Tom Jensen and the folks over at Public Policy Polling are asking readers which state they should poll. Visitors can cast a vote for Missouri, Nevada or South Carolina, all of which are contested states that are somewhat underrepresented in other polling.

As it stands, according to fivethirtyeight.com, Missouri and Nevada have been polled about 15 times since June, while South Carolina has only been queried six times since July. Currently, the survey results indicate that people want more data from Missouri, which is understandable; 538 projects it as the closest contest among those three states, and Intrade's line only has McCain ahead there by 10 percent. South Carolina has been polled quite rarely, but it's eventual allegiance is disputed by very few.
