'Lego' to church

For Stuart Dornfeld, the 60 hours of work he put into constructing a 12,000-piece Lego replica of the congregation he serves—Emanuel Lutheran, Brandon, Wis.—was a small price to pay: The pastor knows it attracted attention.

Since the Fond du Lac (Wis.) Reporter first reported on his plastic parish in early July, the story has been picked up by the Associated Press and distributed to news outlets nationwide. “A radio station in Texas called me, and St. Louis called me. It’s like, ‘I’m doing an interview tomorrow morning about this silly little Lego thing?’ It’s kind of insane,” Dornfeld said.
